RSNC Director, 11 Others Crowned Chiefs In Minama
The Amayanabo of Minama Community, HRH Iboroma Pokubo in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, has conferred chieftaincy titles on 12 prominent sons of the kingdom, including a Director in the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, Mr. Dagogo Clinton.
Speaking at the installation ceremony Monday in Minama Town, HRH Pokubo said the new chiefs were chosen based on their contributions to the development of the area after they were adequately screened.
According to him, the status of a chief in the community is determined by the type of stool occupied, as they are an off-shoot of the throne itself.
The royal father however noted that the community was currently undergoing serious transformation and expressed the hope that the new stools would accelerate growth in the area.
In his words, “it is intended to broaden the base for leadership and to position the community for the changes that the world constantly throws up.”
The Amayanabo used the occasion to appeal to the people to participate in the forthcoming voter’s registration and support the Governor Amaechi-led administration.
The Minama Monarch scored Governor Amaechi high in governance of the state and therefore said he deserved to be given a second chance to continue in his developmental strides.
Others who were conferred with the chieftaincy titles included Ipalibo Iyiabo, Tamunosaki Dokubo, Awoala Christopher Bewon West, Fubara Bekinbo, Jerry Young, Loto Oniye, the rest were Tony Dokubo, Diepriye Granville and Godknows Iwo. They are expected to provide moral, intellectual and traditional support to the Amayanabo in the running of the affairs in the community.
