About 350 contractors of Rivers indigenes involved in the execution of several development projects in Rivers State have pledged to work committedly towards the effective implementation of all on-going projects in the state.

The reactions of the contractors who spoke under the aegis of G350+ is coming even after the state Governor, Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, had at different fora expressed disappointment over the poor performance of indigenous contractors in execution of projects.

But at a press briefing in port Harcourt, Monday, the contractors promised  to  turn in a new leaf this time around. They also vowed to support the second term bid of Governor Amaechi.

The Director-General of G350+, Chief Sunnie Chukumele, who spoke on behalf of the group, commended the Amaechi administration for involving local contractors in the execution of the on-going model primary schools and health centres across the state.

By this action, he said, the Amaechi administration has kept faith with his promise of putting Rivers money in the hands of Rivers people.

“We are happy to state categorically that we the local indigenous contractors in Rivers State express utmost gratitude to His Excellency and government of Rivers State for the confidence reposed in us,” he said.

Chukumele, said that the confidence has enabled the local contractors to compete favorably with their counterparts in other parts of the world.

The G350+ also commended the Governor for the spirit of continuity brought into governance by executing projects awarded by previous administrations in the state.

By that show of governance, Chukumele said Governor Amaechi has demonstrated excellent capacity in piloting the affairs of the state even as they commend him for exemplary leadership.

He also thanked the Governor for the prevailing pace in the state, and solicited for support to sustain the tempo.

Chukumele, however, described the G350+ as a transformational group intended to work hand in gloves with the visionary and pragmatic administration of Governor Amaechi towards bringing back the lost glory of the state.
