A sports philantropist and patron of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Rivers State chapter, Chief Chris Okonkwo Ogamba, has called on the football governing authorities in the country, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to give the Super Eagles new coach, Sampson Siasia a free hand to operate.

Chief Ogamba, who made the call during a chat with sports journalists in his office in Port Harcourt said NFF should allow Coach Siasia to take the Super Eagles to the next level.

According to him, Coach Siasia’s records speak volumes of his ability and potentials, as giving him a free hand to operate, as well as with the support of all, Nigeria’s Super Eagles would bounce back to former glory.

He added that all Nigerians, and indeed, football lovers should encourage the new coach to achieve the desired result for the country.

“We need result and not quota system, as players could be assembled from the same geographical region provided they can make the country proud during continental and world championships”, he stated.

He also pointed out that with abundant talents  in the country, there was optimism that formidable teams could be raised for the country.

Chief Ogamba also noted that with better focus and collective commitment, Nigerian football, especially the Super Eagles, would rule the world in football once again. He appealed to government to continue to give sports (football) priority attention.
