Youths in River State have been called upon to emulate  the exemplary  leadership and statesmen who have ultimately become role models of the society in order to build a better future.

A renowned novelist, Captain Elechi Amadi, made the call at the installation of Eze Gideon   Omodu, as the Eze/paramount ruler of Mgbuoua community in Ndele.

Captain Amadi, who spoke as the chairman of the occasion, recalled that Chief Omodu has been a role model and had servd as the Ochi Oha Ikwerre VIII, where he exhibited exemplary character.

The author of The Concubine further noted that the likes of Chief Omodu in Ikwerre land are not associated with big money  but good character as a legacy.

Amadi, statemen who have ultimately become role models of the society who was the Ochi Oha Ikwerre the X, called on the youths to learn from the newly installed ruler in their domain to tap from his wealth of experience in life.

He also advised the youths to be patient with whatever  they do, urging them to eschew  violence in their approach  to community or state affairs.

He called on all and sundry to support Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s administration in Rivers State.

According to him, youths must show respect to the elders  reminding  them that “one who kills in his own land is never a strongman.”

“We all need to embrace peace in Ikwerre land to enable us eat from what God has given us in our land”, Amadi said.
