Textile dealers in Kano have commended the Federal Government for reviving the United Textile Limited (UNTL), Kaduna.

The Tide correspondent, who spoke with some of the traders in Kantin Kwari Textile Market in Kano on Thursday, reports that most of the traders were happy with the development.

Malam Ali Habu, a trader, said that the federal government’s bailout of about N70 billion for the textile industries in the country was a welcome development, and that the re-opening of the UNTL was a blessing to the country.

Another trader, Malam Tanko Gezawa, thanked the federal government for fulfilling its promise and for reviving the ailing textile companies in Kaduna.

Malam Sabo Hamza, a retailer, also commended the federal government for reopening the textile company.

He said that the bailout, if well utilised, would boost the economy of the country and provide jobs for the teeming unemployed youths.

Hamza, however, appealed to the Federal Government to ensure improved power supply in the country, adding that industries needed constant power to run efficiently.

The federal government, earlier this year, approved N70 billion as bailout  to the ailing textile companies in the country.
