Assassins Kill DPR Director In Warri
Unidentified gunmen have killed an assistant director with the Directorate of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Warri Office, Mr. Adedeji Ahmed Adetulubo.
The DPR director was shot dead last week Tuesday at Okiti street by Giwa Amu junction while returning to his official residence located at Ekpan area of Effurun, near Warri.
The Tide gathered that the assassinated DPR director was driving home in his car at about 7.15pm when he was stopped by four armed youths who demanded for the key to his Toyota Avalon Car with registration number PA58AAA.
The slain Adetulubo, according to security source was in the process of handing over the car key to the armed youths when one of them shot him.
The vehicle was not stolen, which gave an impression that it was a case of assassination instead of robbery.
The victim who was described as a gentlemen was said to have handled sensitive official assignments in recent times which included supervision of lifting of crude oil at Forcados and other major oil terminals.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Delta State, ASP Charles Muka who confirmed the incident said the Police was investigating the killing.
