AKULGA Okays George For House Of Reps
Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Akuku-Toru and Asari-Toru federal constituency have endorsed the former Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources Dr. Dawari George for House of Representatives.
The endorsement followed a meeting with the two local government chapters executives of the party and ward executives of the party both at Buguma and Abonnema respectively.
Speaking, the Chairman of Asari-Toru Local government Area, Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree said that Dr. George was eminently qualified to represent the area in the National Assembly.
Hon. Flag Amaechree said that as the Chief Security Officer of the council, Dr. Dawari George remains the candidate of the council for the House of Representatives while Hon Otelemaba Dun Amachree will represent the Asari-Toru constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The council chairman who urged the ward executives to support the aspirants also urged the people of Akuku-Toru local government area to respect the zoning system in the area.
Also speaking, the chairman of Akuku-Toru local government area, Hon. Paul Awoyesuku declared the council’s readiness to back the former energy commissioner for the National Assembly.
In their separate speeches both the PDP chairmen Asari-Toru local government area, Dabere Horsfall and his AKULGA counterpart, Mr. Roland Sekibo also expressed their support for the aspirant and urged him to ensure equitable distribution of amenities in the area.
Later in an interview, Dr. Dawari George pledged to hold regular consultations with the people, while effort would be made to unite the Kalabaris.
He also warned them against politics of deceit.
