In fulfilment of the promise made to players of Dolphins and Sharks last week, the Rivers State government is set to ensure that players of the sides get paid their outstanding salaries before they go on Christmas break.

Last week one month salary was paid to the players with a promise to get the other three months before the Christmas break.

Manager of the side, Stanley Eguma said the owners of the club made a promise and it will be wise to believe them.

“You know it was a promise they made to the team when the players went on strike and they have already delivered on the first month’s salary so we believe that before the Christmas because that will go a long way to encourage the boys to believe in their employers,” Eguma said.

Already investigations revealed that a cheque from the Rivers State government has been paid into the bank and as is usual in banking, will be ready in four working days.
