Rivers Angels Begin Training For New Season

The Rivers State Women Football team, Rivers Angels, says it has commenced training for the 2010/2011 season.

This was made known recently by the coach of the team, Coach Whyte Ogbondah, during an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.

According to him, the season is yet to kick-off, but the team deemed it necessary to commence her training session in order to be physically fit.

He maintained that preparation would help to identify the strength and weakness of the team, while giving the opportunity to fortify and correct areas that need attention.

He stated that, presently the team trains once daily, specifically in the morning hours, pending when the new season begins.

Meanwhile, the teams retained all her players in the last season and recruited about six new players to beef-up the team.

Coach Ogbondah, noted that, the new players were yet to show-up to sign their contract.

It would be recalled that the Angels came top in 2009/2010 league season and now awaits the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to fix a new date for the Super 6 play-off as the earlier date was postponed due to the initial crisis in the NFF.
