Ogbakiri Community Lauds Amaechi’s Projects

The Ogbakiri (Wezina) Council of Traditional rulers, chiefs and elders in Emohua Local Government Area in Rivers State, has lauded the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his development efforts, particularly in Ogbakiri community.

The paramount ruler of Ogbakiri (Wezina) Community, HRH, Eze Ferdinand S.M Elem-Ekenta  made the commendation on behalf of the members during the council’s end of year meeting at Ekenta hall, Oduoha Ogbakiri last Saturday.

He noted that the community had benefited in the areas of new Health Centre, Model Primary Schools in all the villages and appointment of their sons and daughters into public offices.

Eze Ekenta, however appealed to the State Government to look into the problems of bad roads, portable water and electricity, adding that the only source of electricity in the community is the 40 KVA Generator donated by Hon. A.I. Uchendu a member of the Federal House of Representatives.

The Ogbakiri monach disclosed that the community is now very peaceful and united, adding that most of the people in self exile are returning home to rebuild their houses and contribute to the development of the new Ogbakiri. According to him, the Otona’s family of Rumuoro has also joined the rest of Wezina community, a move which he described as a welcome development in the final peace process.

In his speech, the Chairman of Oduoha Ogbakiri community Development committee (CDC) Mr. Emma Chijioke Eme noted that apart from the government projects, the community had also embarked on self help projects to compliment government’s efforts.
