Vice-President Namadi Sambo says the N500 billion funds for Small and Medium Scale Enterprise (SME) is now with the Central Bank.

The Vice-President made this known when he paid a courtesy visit on Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, the Alake of Egba land, last Saturday in Abeokuta.

Sambo, who was in Abeokuta to felicitate with former President Olusegun Obasanjo on his daughter’s wedding, said the funds would aid jobs creation.

He said it would also fast-track Nigeria’s aim of being one of the developed countries of the world by the year 2020.

According to him, the country would soon witness tremendous growth in infrastructural development, power generation and jobs creation.

He said the funds would have a long-term repayment period to meet the target for which it was set up.

Sambo, who was accompanied by Gov. Gbenga Daniel of Ogun, used the occasion to commend the governor.

The Vice-President said he noticed a lot of development in the state compared to when he visited the place six years ago as a consultant to the state on agrocargo airport.

He attributed the development to the royal father’s cooperation and fatherly advice, noting that the state was blessed with human and natural resources.

Sambo said all indications pointed to Olokola in Ogun as the best location for a deep sea port.
