National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Okwesilieze Nwodo, has urged politicians to stop bickering and embark on issue-driven campaigns.

Nwodo made the call at a dinner hosted in his honour by the Osun State government in Osogbo, according to a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Ike Abonyi.

He said Nigerians were tired of tribal and religious politics, and would want to hear about issues that would help put food on their tables.

“Old stories where politicians executed campaigns on sentiments rather than issues were gone for good,” the statement quoted the PDP national chairman as saying.

“We must strive to deliver good governance to our people and leave a legacy that endures.”

He noted that history would not remember a person because of the number of ill-gotten cars or houses he possessed.

The dinner was attended by Gov. Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole and top government officials, including the deputy governor and the Speaker of the House of Assembly.
