Constrasting Fortunes For Sharks, Dolphins As Premier League Kicks Off

Sharks FC of Port Harcourt yesterday at the Sharks Stadium played 1-1 draw with JUTH FC of Jos, in one of the week one matches played across the country in the Nigeria Premier League.

Victor Ezeji’s 76th minute goal gave the host the lead, as he nodded the ball into the net through a corner kick.

The visitors shortly after the goal raised their game and fought like a wounded lion looking for an equaliser.

But it was not until 90th minute, Adamu Aliyu scored the equaliser through free kick outside the eighteen yard box.

Generally, Sharks played below expectations as the visitors dominated the play.

In a post match interview the Chief Coach of JUTH, Tunde Abdulraham, said his team would sustain the standard.

To be sincere the pressure was on us in the first half, but we ultilised our chance to level.”

Abdulraham, expressed joy over the impressive performance of his players, saying that the team is determined to top the league table.

Meanwhile, Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt, snatched three points from Plateau United FC in far away Jos, as they defeated the host 0-1.
