Capitalisation Rises, Volume Falls At NSE
At the end of transactions on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) last Friday, the market capitalisation and all –share index appreciated, while the volume and value of traded equities went down to end the week’s trading.
Specifically market close lower at 25,042.16 points shedding 102 per cent or 25.59 points from 25,067.75 points traded on Thursday on the flow of the house.
Also, market capitalisation declined by 102.5 percent or N8.2 billion from N7.99 trillion traded Thursday to close lower at N7.98 trillion.
A total of 350,302,842 shares worth N4.2 billion exchanged hands in 5,650 deals compared to 250,697,330 shares, valued at N2.5 billion in 6844 deals traded on Thursday.
The value of listed equities appreciated by N1.6 billion or 64 per cent from N2.5 traded Thursday to close higher at N4.2 billion.
Also share volume went up by 39.7 per cent or 99,605,512 shares from 250, 697, 330 shares traded by investors on Thursday, to close higher at 350, 302, 842 shares.
Flowmill gained N1.87 per cent share to lead the gainers chart after opening and closing at N70.03 and N71.90 respectively.
NBC, OANDO, Ashakacem and PZ followed with N1.55, N1.19, N1.09 and N1 gains respectively.
However, Cadbury, Unilever, Dangsugar and NB all lost N.94, N.75, N.49 and N.43 respectively to front the losers chart.
