2011: ‘No Blackmail Can Stop Abe’
The Magnus Abe campaign organization says no amount of smear campaign, orchestrated by some political jobbers can stop the ambition of the incumbent secretary to the State Government, Hon. Magnus Abe to offer himself for service as senator representing the South East senatorial district in Rivers State.
A statement from the campaign organization and signed by its media officer, Mr. Elvis Eneyok, said Hon. Magnus Abe cannot be coerced to participate in any form of undemocratic process in another political party “especially since he is not a member of the Action Congress.”
“Our attention has been drawn to the antics of a group of political misfits, led by one Sungage Badey of the Action Congress in Gokana Local Government Area, attempting to smear the character and image of Hon. Magnus Abe for refusing to sponsor him for an election in the AC sometime ago,” he said.
“While we chose not to trade banters with him because of the memory of friendship our mentor shared with his late father, it needs to be stated that trading words with a contractor being declared wanted by the NDDC and who is ready to destroy anyone for a piece of portage, would be a waste of effort.”
“We refuse to buy into Mr. Badey’s bid. We refuse to buy,” Mr. Eneyok said.
