Sports Writers Offer Tickets For Dolphins, Sharks Match
The League of Sports Writers (LSW) in Rivers State say they would buy tickets for the first 20 persons to watch matches involving Sharks and Dolphins FCs, when the premier league commences.
Carl Orakwue, the secretary of the organization made this known in an exclusive interview with Tidesports on Saturday in Port Harcourt, saying that the aim was to encourage fans to come out to watch league matches in the state.
According to him, the LSW is poised to return football to the ways it was in those days in Port Harcourt.
“In those days Port Harcourt used to be a place where people love to go to the stadium to watch matches, but that has changed in the past five to six years.
We are not happy that is why we are doing this, at least to encourage fans to come to the stadia,” Orakwue said.
The secretary explained that the organization has made the arrangement with the ticketing officer of both clubs for effective implementation.
“For the first five weeks of the league season we will sponsor 20 people to watch each match played in Port Harcourt. We have already spoken with those in charge of ticketing at the two stadia to know that we will be paying for the first 20 fans that come to the stadium” he said.
Orakwue, further said that the organsiation hoped to increase the number of ticket offered, but for now, they would start with 20 persons.
