RSG, FG Open Bidding For MDGs

The Rivers State Government in conjunction with the federal government committee on Conditional Grants Scheme for Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) has opened its public bidding for the implementation of the 2009 development projects.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on MDGs, Mr. Desire.

Bobmanuel gave this indication during the opening ceremony of the bidding for the implementation of the 2009 development projects in Port Harcourt.

Mr. Bobmanuel stated that the occasion was to enable the committee in the state choose credible contractors that will be used to achieve the MDG’s

He emphasized that only contractors with evidence that they could mobilize to site within seven days without mobilization fee and who can complete 30 per cent of the total job within three months, would be contracted.

The Special Adviser however assured the contractors that their fees would be paid to the letter, stressing that the committee had to apply strict measures in giving out the contracts to ensure that only qualified bidders get the jobs.

Mr. Bobmanuel reiterated his commitment to giving every bidder equal opportunity by ensuring that every document would be properly looked at before selections are made.
