PDP Aspirant Endorses AELGA Chairman For Second Term
Following the call from various quarters urging the Executive Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State,High Chief Cassidy Ikegbidi,a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the Rivers State House of Assembly seat in Ahoada East constituency 1 in the 2011 elections,Mrs.Peace Nwobudu Ideozu, has said that the council boss deserves a second term in office over what she described as a magic touch of the chairman,especially in the area of infrastructural development and empowernment.
She made this known during a solidarity visit on the chairman recently and commended the council boss for the completion of the magnificent secretarait edifice built by him. She said that the council boss had the consttutional right to contest the forthcoming 2011 council election like every other citizen of the area, not minding the campaign of calumny by a few clique, out to perpetuate their political hold by all means.
Mrs.Ideozu further stated that Ahoada East Local Government belongs to all the citizens of the area, and for that reason, it should be governed by peace and transparency, without anybody seeing any of her constituents as junior or an inferior partner or citizen, adding, that leadership should attract the best candidate using the parameter of performance, principles,and steriling leadership qualities and being a true patriot, not class interest as witnessed in the past, noting that the council boss has all the qualities mentioned.
She also charged women who aspire positions of greatness to first imbibe the life of self-discipline, leadership by example, the fear of God and respect for constituted authority.
In his response,the council boss,High Chief Cassidy Ikegbidi thanked the PDP aspirant,Mrs Peace Nwobudu Ideozu for her support and promised to continue in the spirit of humility with which he conducts his affairs as that would go a long way to help him accomplish the onerous task ahead,adding that only the humble and self-respecting would be encouraged to climb the ladder of success in 2011.
