Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi says the present administration in the state has embarked on valued projects that would speak for themselves.

Governor Amaechi stated this last Saturday, while speaking at the ARISE National Youth Forum in Port Harcourt with the theme: Cooperation for Operation.

The governor, who spoke on the topic – Framework for National Transformation, said the State Government does not have any Godfather but depends on the people to defend the administration from destructive elements.

The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Magnus Abe, said the time for change has come and that Nigerians must take advantage of the opportunities to chart a new course.

He noted that transformation can only take place  when people realize that the old ways of doings things need to be changed and the change must start from the character of the people.

Governor Amaechi opined that Nigerians have capacity and potentials to change but regretted that the problem lies in the misapplication of the capabilities, noting that society must attach identifiable values that need to be explored.

The State Chief Executive argued that limitless opportunities exist for those Nigerians that are ready to take advantage of opportunities available to them, emphasizing that “I see Nigerian youths that are proud of their country among you but must be visionary”.

The governor explained that the state government is building an international economy where all those living and doing business in Rivers State would have equal opportunities to excel through competitive approach.

In his speech, the Port Harcourt Resident Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Pastor Lanre Oluseye said Nigerian youths must begin to fight the spirit of devaluation if the nation must grow, pointing out that Christians must learn to do the right things for others to follow.
