Oshiomhole Swears-In New EDSOGPADEC Member

Edo State Governor, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole has charged newly sworn-in members of the State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOGPADEC) to ensure prudent management of resources to impact positively on the lives of the people of the oil producing areas.

    Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Oshiomhole said government was mindful of the need to be prudent with resources, advising that every kobo spent must be properly accounted for and government must get value for its money.

 “You all recognise that we have a job to do and the people are our judges and as a government that is founded on popular participation, we cannot but ensure that we work for the people of the state, and I believe that each and every one of you shares this vision”, he said.

He urged the commission to ensure that their own plans complemented that of the state government, urging them to apply resources judiciously and maximize the impact of the commission on the lives of the people.

“From the records available and from the findings of what is now referred to as the Elama Assets Verification Panel, the last board did not apply resources judiciously.
