Lagos Motor Fair Kicks Off Soon
Arrangements have been concluded for the kick off of the 6th edition of the annual Lagos Motor Fair slated for October 16 to 24, 2010 at the Famous Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos.
The Managing Director, BKG Exhibitions Limited and the chairman Organising Committee, Mr. Ifeanyi Ichukwu Agwu, who disclosed this recently in Lagos, said this year’s edition has been packaged to commemorate Nigeria’s Golden Jubilee.
He said no fewer than fifty five participants from Nigeria and abroad who are major players in automotive, road transport and allied sub sectors are expected to showcase the world class products and services at the venue of the event.
“We have carefully put in place a lot of crowd pulling activities geared towards driving much traffic into Tafawa Balewa Square come October 16th to 24th, during the event, there will be display of model car parades and road shows,” he said.
According to him, the organising committee has partnered with Chadeg Automobile Services, a Nigerian firm that specialised in automobile consultancy, car care and road safety advocacy to host the first ever Nigeria stunts driving safety and fun show, he further disclosed, noting that the event with the Theme: Projecting Safe and Efficient Driving through entertainment is the first autotainment event ever organised in Nigeria.
The programme, which will last for two days is an event that will feature the world’s best automobile stunts drivers (led by Mr. Terry Grant from the United Kingdom with 16 Guiness world records performing live here in Nigeria during the forth coming Lagos Motor fair.
“The essence for the event is to use the entertainment aspect of automobiles to project a more positive side to cars, pass on the message that cars should not be misused on our roads, rather road users would be encouraged to go for training on how best to use our roads to avoid a lot of mishaps on our roads.
These car stunt drivers will use their precision driving skills to entertain the spectators while also passing the road safety message across, that for one to be a good driver like them, one needs to go for all relevant authorities. Equally the relevant road safety organisations will be on hand to buttress this point.”
