Chime Assures Defence College Team Of Assistance
Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has assured members of the Course 19 team of National Defence College of his administration’s support to enable them to succeed in their programmes.
Receiving the 17-member team on a “geo-strategic” tour of Enugu last Monday, he said the state was one of the safest in the South East Geo-political Zone as far as the incedence of kidnapping and violent armed crimes were concerned.
Chime, represented by his deputy, Mr Sunday Onyebuchi, said the feat was attributable to the diligence of security agencies working in the state, of which the military was a major force.
“Since the administration assumed office in 2007, we decided to restore the lost glory of Enugu, through aggressive provision of infrastructure to enable investors to make the city their home,” he said.
The governor said he was delighted that the state was chosen as one of the nine states to be visited by the team.
He commended the military personnel for sacrificing their lives in defence of the nation against external and internal aggression.
