Bulls Return To Stock Market …As Volume Doubles

Investors on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), rejoiced at the end of transactions on Friday, as market showed a remarkable improvement.

All the market indicators rose to close the day on a positive note, an indication that the bulls may return soon.

Specifically, All Shares Index appreciated by 2.4 per cent or 592.56 points from 24,485.17 points traded on Thursday, to close higher at 25,077.73 points.

Market capitalisation also went up by N145.2 billion from N5.999 trillion traded on Thursday to also close higher at N6.145 trillion.

The volume of traded equities bulled by 251,696,697 shares or 153.6 per cent from 163,933,488 shares traded on Thursday, to close the week higher at 415,630,185 shares.

Also, the value of listed equities added 81.3 per cent or N1.3 billion to N1.6 billion traded on Thursday closing higher at N2.9 billion.

Investors  traded a total of 415,630,185 shares worth N2.9 billion in 5,559 deals, in contrast to 163,933,488 shares valued at N1.6 billion in 5,405 deals.

The gainers chart was led by Flourmill after making N1.40 gain opening and closing at N68.30 and N69.70 respectively.

Cadbury, AP PZ and Dangsugar all made N1.38, N1.30, N1.02 and N.29, respectively to follow.

On the other hand, CCNN lost N0.60 to lead the losers chart.
