A youth body in the state, Rivers Youth For Continuity and Consolidation (RYCC) has called on all people of the state to support the administration of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, to ensure more development in the state.

The call, made on Monday after a meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the body in Port Harcourt, noted that the call for support of the present administration in the state is necessitated by developments recorded since the governor’s assumption of office in October, 2007.

According to the body, in a communiqué following the meeting, the Amaechi-led administration in the state has laid the foundation for a better Rivers State with its Greater Port Harcourt City Project, which will ensure total decongestion of Port Harcourt, and provide a second city in addition to Port Harcourt.

The body also identified the improvement of power sully in the state through the innovation of Trans-Amadi Gas Turbine and the Afam Power Plant.

The document, signed by the National Co-ordinator, Comrade Elechi Ikenda and the Director, Media and Publicity, Comrade Carlos Kakue further noted “the massive construction of modern roads across the state, the restoration of orderliness and transformation of the city of Port Harcourt from an unorganized town to a world class city, with recreational parks, and the successful completion of the Eleme Junction Inter-change.”

Another achievement which the RYCC noted in favour of the Amaechi-led administration is what it tagged “the total over-hauling of the educational system, through massive construction of state-of-the-art primary and secondary schools in almost all the wards and communities in the state.”

The body also noted the “endless number of scholarhships to the people of Rivers State within Nigeria and abroad,” as well as provision of modern health centres in nearly all the local government areas in the state.”

Given the fore-going, the RYCC thus called on Rivers people to support the government in order to ensure developments in more areas.
