Rivers Football Talents Show Commences Screening
Rivers State Social rehabilitation committee in conjunction with Fash Football Challenge is to organize “Football talents show” at the Port Harcourt Liberation Stadium on Friday through Sunday.
John Fashanu, the co-ordinator of the project, in an exclusive interview with Tidesports on Monday, said the talent show is to discover hidden talents from the grassroots and develop football culture in the country.
He explained that about 15,000 footballers are expected to come for the show for screening, adding that 20 local coaches would be involved in the screening process.
“We are expecting about 15,000 footballers on that day, because 10, 000 scratch cards were sold and the card qualifies you to participate .
“Those who don’t have the card can buy it at the gate at the rate of N250.00 only because it will subsidized y the state government to enable people have a fair trial,” Fashanu said.
According to him, successful players would be grouped into four categories, the first grade players would be sent to Europe, second grade to Russia, Indonisia and other countries, third grade would be taken to African countries while the fourth grade players would be absorbed in our local clubs.
