RATTAWU Assures Primary Health Care Of Partnership

The Chairman of Radio, Television and Theatre Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU), Rivers State Council, Comrade Isaac Esuku, has assured the Primary Health care unit in the state particularly the social Mobilisation Committee on Enlightenment and Communication, that the union would partner with them to achieve their set goals.

Comrade Esuku gave the assurance when members of the committee on englightenment and communication, led by Mrs Amakiri O. Dan-Jumbo paid him a courtesy visit midweek in his office, at William Jumbo Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt.

According to him, the task before the committee is enormous, but RATTAWU would assist them, in conjunction with Journalists in various media houses to disseminate information to enable those in the rural areas have the required awareness.

“I must tell you that good health is very important to human life, we will try our best, in collaboration with journalists in various media houses, to ensure that the awareness campaign and enlightenment reach the rural populace”, Esuku said.

The Chairman urged the Committee not to relent on their good works.

“I use this opportunity to urged you to continue your good works, so that our wives and children will be safe before and after delivery. I am aware that some women and children die, just because they did not take the required vaccine”, he added.

Speaking at the occasion, the leader of the group, Chief Mrs Amakiri O. Dan-Jumbo, said the major reason for their visit was to seek partnership, so that the awareness campaign will be well publicised.

Mrs Dan-Jumbo commended RATTAWU in the state, over their informative programmes and appealed for more assistance in terms of publicity for the forth coming immunisation later this year.
