Market Crashes Again At Exchange

At the end of trading on the floor of Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday, market indicators that started picking up after the crash due to the leadership crisis, depreciated once again to end the market on a negative note.

The volume and value of traded equities all beared on the floor of NSE yesterday.

Specially, market closed at 25,350.98 points, with market capitalisation at N6.2 trillion.

Investors traded a total of 220,049,758 shares worth N2.1 billion in 6,312 deals, in constrast with 259,889,769 shares valued at N2.7 billion which exchanged hands in 8,895 deals.

The volume of traded equities shedded 39,839,011 shares or 15.3 per cent to close lower at 220,049,758  shares from 259,889,769 shares traded on Monday.

Also, the value of shares depreciated by N609.7 million or 22.6 per cent to  close lower at N2.1 billion from N2.7 billion traded on the floor of NSE on Monday.

Julius Berger gained N2.61 to lead the gainers chart while Guaranty Trust Bank on the other hand lost N0.8 to lead the losers’ chart.
