Flood Renders 50 Families Homeless In Katsina

Fifty families have been rendered homeless and property worth thousands of naira destroyed by flood which ravaged Rijiya Maisiminti village in Rimi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

An eye witness told newsmen in the village yesterday  that the flood was caused by a torrential rainfall which lasted for several hours on Monday.

He said most of the houses in the village had collapsed, while a few others were partially damaged, and some animals were drowned.

Many of the victims are now taking refuge in the houses of their  neighbours who were not seriously affected.
