The Action Congress (AC) has warned against fifth columnists and overzealous party members who may want to resort to violence at the party’s convention in Lagos on Monday.

In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday, by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohamed, the party advised aspirants to ensure that their supporters do not play into the hands of the trouble makers by being unruly.

It said that the aspirants should ensure that their supporters maintain orderliness, decency and decorum during the convention, warning that defaulters would face disqualification.

“Our party is known for peace and we do not expect anything less at our convention on Monday. We expect a carnival-like atmosphere to prevail at the venue.”

“We must repudidate the antics of infiltrators who may be working in collusion with parties that are known for violence,” the party said.

AC said that the convention would, among others, consider and approve a change of name and amendment to the party’s constitution.

The convention would also consider and approve the amendment of the party’s manifesto as well as change of motto, emblem, flag and slogan.
