Former governor of Lagos State, Chief Bola Tinubu, on Friday, said that the Action Congress (AC) would in 2011 move from opposition to wrest power at the national level from the ruling PDP.

Speaking with newsmen at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Tinubu said that the AC would not allow the country to become a one-party state.

He contended that the ruling party was concentrating on zoning rather than addressing national problems.

“In the past 50 years of our independence, we are still talking about our potentials,” he said.

On the possibility of AC merging with other political parties, the former governor said that the party’s convention slated for August 10 would decide.

“It is not about the merger of which party or not but you have to look at the laws made by the National Assembly,” he said.

On calls for President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2011 election, Tinubu said that the issue was PDP’s problem.
