Former Super Eagles striker Samson Siasia says he is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to lead the senior national football team’s coaching crew.

Siasia, who in 2005 was an assistant in the team’s coaching crew led by Austin Eguavoen after the departure of Christian Chukwu, said he could not wait to have the chance of contributing to the team.

“I can’t wait to be the Super Eagles’ coach. That is an opportunity which I will love, and I can’t wait to be able to inculcate in the Eagles the spirit of sportsmanship,’’ he said.

Siasia who played for the Eagles from the mid-80s till 1998 led the Flying Eagles to second place at the 2005 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Holland.

After leading the national under-23 team to the Beijing Olympic Games’ silver medal in August 2008, he went on to take the Flying Eagles to the second round at the 2005 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Egypt.
