Rivers Angels Ready For Glory In 2010

Captain of the Rivers State female football team, Rivers Angels, Lucky Atu, has reassured sports lovers in the state that the team would do the state proud in the on-going 2009-2010 League season and Federation Cup Competition.

Atu made this reassurance after one of the  team’s training sessions at the Port Harcourt Liberation Stadium.

According to her, the team was in its best form this season and poised to put smiles on the faces of their fans by winning the league title and federation cup title.

Rivers Angels currently lead the women’s League followed by Delta Queens  Bayelsa Queens, respectively,

Meanwhile, these teams have qualified for the semi-final stage at the federation cup in their various zones.

In another development, Chairman of Bayelsa Queens Fc, Mr Buna Ironsi has implored Governor Timipire Sylva, to release funds for the team to boost the morale of the players who had qualified for the semi-final stage of the federation cup.

Ironsi told Tidesports that he was appelling to the administration of Chief Syva to render the needed financial support to the team which has done the state proud in the competition.

He explained that the players have so far demonstrated genuine commitment to promote the image of the state by qualifying for the semi-final stage of the federation cup and deserves government attention.
