Pillars’Players Get 80 Per cent Sign On Fees
Management of Kano Pillars FC has paid the players and technical crew N30 million as sign-on fees for the 2009/2010 season.
The chairman of the club, Alhaji Tukur Babangida, made this known on Wednesday in Kano while addressing the players.
He said the amount represented 30 per cent of the total fees for the period.
Babangida explained that with the latest payment, 80 per cent of the fees had been settled.
He said the remaining 20 per cent would be paid “as soon as the government releases the money to us”.
He announced a two-week break for the players to enable them meet their families.
The chairman commended the players and the technical crew for their performance during the premier league competition which gave the team a chance to play the CAF championship 2011.
He thanked the government, the club’s fans, and the people for their support to the club, and expressed the hope that the gesture would be sustained.
Pillars finished second on the league table behind Enyimba FC.
