The Oyo State House of Assembly says it has suspended two of its members indefinitely for absenteeism.

The suspended members are Hon. Nafiu Lamidi (PDP) Ibadan North East II and  Ajibola Tijani (PDP) Ibadan South West.

The suspension followed the adoption of a motion moved by Hon. Ademola Olateju (PDP), Ogbomoso South I, under ‘’Matter of Urgent Public Importance“.

The motion alleged that the two lawmakers had been absenting themselves from the Assembly without permission for more than one month.

The motion also alleged that since June 18, when the House was thrown to confusion over an attempt by some members to remove the Speaker, the two men had abandoned their constitutional duties .

When the motion was put to vote the members present unanimously adopted the motion to suspend the two lawmakers indefinitely without pay.

Nine members of the House were suspended from the Assembly on June 18, over an attempt to remove the Speaker.
