Netherlands Zoom Into W/Cup Finals

The Netherlands last night in South Africa qualified for the final of the on-going 2010 World Cup after ending the run of Uruguay 3-2 in the semi finals.

Skipper Van Bronchorst sent the Dutch Orange on the way with perhaps, the goal of the tournament, when he let fly from almost 40 metres to beat Uruguay’s goalkeeper in the first half.

In the second half, Uruguay pressed and tried to close down the Dutch team after another good goal from Diego Forlan drew them level.

But Arjen Robben continued to be a thorn in their flesh and two goals from Wesley Sneijder and Robben seemed to have closed out a comfortable victory.

However, a stoppage goal by Uruguay ensure that it was a nervous finish for the Dutch.

It is the third time and the first since 1978 that the Orange will make the FIFA World Cup final stage.
