LG Vice Chairman Suspended

The legislative arm of the Badagry Local Government in Lagos State on Thursday formally suspended the council’s Vice-Chairman, Mrs Kehinde Togbeola, over her failure to appear before it, for the second day running.

The legislature adopted a motion for Togbeola’s suspension after she allegedly refused to appear before the House on Wednesday.

The legislature had first summoned her to appear on Tuesday to defend an allegation that she sent a text message claiming that there was a crisis within the council.

Togbeola did not honour the invitation on the grounds that the notice was short and that she had other scheduled assignments.

Based on her response, a second invitation was extended to her and was required to appear before the lawmakers on Wednesday, an invitation she again did not honour.

Mr Pot-Balogun Semedonu on Wednesday moved the
