Dangers Of Structures Under PHCN High Tension Cables Attract PCRC

The dangers of living or doing business under Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) high tension cables will be highlighted at a one-day public lecture organised by the Rivers State Command of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Port Harcourt.

The public lecture, which will take place on Thursday, at the Police Officers Mess, Old GRA at 11.30 a.m. will be attended by the Rivers State Commissioner for Power, Mr. Augustine Nwokocha while the Chief Executive Officer of PHCN, Zonal Headquarters, Engr. F.R. Onanuga is expected to deliver the lecture.

A statement by the Chairman of PCRC, Rivers State Command, Hon. Austen Yong and the Secretary, Mr. Jeffrey Anugwo stated that the lecture is one of the series in the community safety partnership programme organised by the body to sensitise the public on community safety issues.

According to it, “the specific objective of this lecture is to educate, enlighten and inform members of the public and corporate bodies on the need to be safety conscious and the best way of collaborating with PHCN to avoid PHCN related cases”.

It further stated that PCRC promotes proactive problem solving and police community partnership in order to address causes of crimes and fears of community folks as well as other related issues, enjoining the participants drawn from communities across the geographical spread of Rivers State, the public, safety organisations, government and its agencies, trade unions, among others, to attend.

Meanwhile, the PCRC in the state has concluded arrangement to organize a fund raising dinner on July 31, in Port Harcourt as part of activities to highlight the activities of the body to the public.
