90-Year Old Monarch Submits Self, Family For HIV Test

As  a practical example to his subjects, a 90- year old traditional ruler in Rivers State, HRH Eze J.A.Utchay Esara III of ORO Esara kingdom, has submitted himself to HIV/AIDS test and ordered members of his family to also go through test.

The situation took place during a free HIV/AIDS test exercise organised by Connecting Peace Initiative in conjunction with Mgbusiluru women on mission for peace and CACA peace and women community development militate at Elimgbu in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking shortly after the  test, Eze Utchay also ordered all members of his family including his aged wives to undergo the test.

He said that would enable him to be fully prepared for emergency in the  event that the disease is found among his siblings.

He regretted that youths, who ought to bury their elders are now dying, and blamed it on low level of moral rectitude  in the society.

In his address, the executive director of the group, Mr Sylvester Okoduwa said that the seminar was aimed at creating awareness on the danger of HIV/AIDS in the area.

Mr Okoduwa also said that the organization is working hard to ensure peace on the communities.

In her speech, the executive Director of Mgbsiluru women on mission for peace and Conaan Peace and women development , Pastor (Mrs) Christie Iwezor also said that the NGO is  partnering with others to create awareness on HIV/AIDS in the area.
