40,000MW To Stabilise Power Supply – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has said that power supply can only stabilise when the country starts to generate 40,000 Mega Watt of electricity.

The President speaking  during a Town Hall meeting with the people of Akwa Ibom State said the government was taking the issue seriously with the holding of meeting every week to review the situation.

On plans to establish a refinery in Eket, the President said the Federal Government would not want to get directly involved in the building of new refineries but intended to encourage public private partnership.

President Jonathan noted that what was actually affecting the take off of private refineries was the issue of correct pricing of petroleum products.
