Veron Wants Good Start Against Eagles

Argentina veteran Juan Sebastian Veron says that a good start against Nigeria in their Group B opener on June 12 will go a long way to determining how far they can go at the World Cup finals.

The 35-year-old Estudiantes midfielder believes that the preparation for the World Cup is going quite well and stated that the team is capable of having a great tournament.

“The match against Nigeria will be very important to show how we are. I think if we start well we can go very far as a team,” he was quoted as saying.

“We are in a period of training, doing tests, but everyone is in good form. The coaching staff is also good because they are with us and listen to us. The goal is having a great World Cup.

“It’s important to work quietly in Pretoria a few days before the start of a tournament of this nature, with time for evaluation and analysis.

“The days before the World Cup are very anxious generally, but this team contradicts that in training.

There are players with experience in that and the young are learning.”
