NSE: Market Indicators Crash Again

Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Friday ended on a bearish note as market indicators all crashed further to end the week’s trading.

Specifically, market closed at 25,154.26 points as against 25,343.02 points traded Thursday, shedding 188.78 points.

 Also, market capitalisation crashed by N45.9 billion from N6.2 trillion, to close lower at N6.1 trillion.

Investors at the end of the day traded a total of 205,004,185 shares worth N1.96 billion in 5.654 deals.

 The volume of traded equities went down by 206,905,958 shares or 50.2 per cent from 411,910,143 shares to close lower at 205,004,185 shares.

Further, the value of shares depreciated by N941.5 million or 32.5 per cent from N2.9 billion, to also close lower at N1.96 billion.

 The gainers chart was led by Ashakacem and First Bank which opened and closed at N17.55, N18.19 and N13.01, N13.34 respectively, gaining N0.64 and N0.33 respectively per share.

However, more companies (36) recorded losses in their Friday transactions, led by Flourmill which opened and closed at N67.50 and N66.10 respectively, losing N1.40 per share.

The Banking sub-sector share was the most active with 137,058,763 shares worth N1.3 billion which exchanged hands in 3,041 deals compared to 237,820, 227 shares valued at N2 billion in 3,129 deals traded on Thursday.
