Golden Jubilee Entertainment Awards Debut

Information reaching our entertainment desk has it that voting has commenced into the various categories of awards of the stingomania sponsored Golden Jubilee of Entertainment award. The award is part of the golden jubilee celebrations marking the country’s independence.

The project, a special 13-event programme is to recognise, appreciate and reward top 100 most influential people in the Nigerian Entertainment industry in the last 50 years. The Stingomania sponsored project will be honouring past and present entertainers in the different categories such as the most popular entertainer since independence, the most influential person in music since independence, the most influential person in movies since independence and the most influential person in comedy since independence.

The record label will also honour the most influential person in sports since independence, the most influential executive in entertainment and the most influential corporate body in entertainment. Some of the nominees are Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Art Alade Snr, Ali Baba, Mike Bamiloye, Omotola Jalade, Haruna Ishiola, King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, Hubert Ogunde and Baba Sala amongst many others.

It was gathered that the full project will start with a book compilation of the 10 most influential people in entertainment in the last 50 years in 10 different categories of entertainment including movies, music, radio, Television, comedy, sports, corporate sponsors, entertainment executives and most popular entertainer of all time since Nigeria’s independence.

A-list artistes have been billed to perform at the awards night that is expected to hold at a choice venue in Lagos later this year.
