The Federal Government through the Ministry of Niger Delta has finalised  arrangement for the award of contract for the N4.5 billion Agada/Ogbom road project in the Abua/Odual Local Government Area.

The Honourable member representing Abua/Odual/Ahoada East Federal Constituency, Hon. Betty Apiafi Okagua disclosed this during a visit by the Oda Abua, HRM. King Kaleh Obuge and his council of chiefs to Emughan clan as part of activities marking the 2010 Abua Kingdom day celebration.

Hon. Okagua, who attributed the delay in the commencement of the project on financial  constraints, also noted that before the end of this month, the on-going electrification project in Emughan clan will be completed in all the six communities in the area, while the one in Okpidem clan will be awarded.

The National Assembly member described the visit of the king to the clan as divine, as it coincided with the one year anniversary of the brutal assassination of  four young men of the clan by suspected cultists.

In his response, the Oda Abuan of Abua Kingdom HRM King Kaleh Obuge thanked Mrs. Okagua, for contributing so much towards the development of the Orashi region.

The king also commended the Uwema of Emughan clan for his leadership qualities and charged the uwemas of all the communities in the kingdom to see their position as a divine mandate to serve their people, stressing that “God will hold anyone among you responsible, who failed his people”.

King Obuge also urged them to return the Manpower Form to the palace to enable the kingdom plan for the employment of its people.

The monarch and his train later visited Okpidem clan.
