ESUT Gets New Vice Chancellor
Prof. Cyprian Onyeji has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT), Agbani.
Onyeji, born in 1957, is a professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
A statement issued by the institution’s Director of Public Relations, Mr Osita Ugwuoti, in Enugu on Saturday said the appointment took effect from May 21.
The appointment was approved by Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu.
Our correspondent recalls that the seat became vacant in November 2009 when the former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ikechukwu Chidobem, proceeded on terminal leave.
Prof. Chidi Ugwu had acted as the vice chancellor of the university until the appointment of Onyeji.
The governor also approved the appointment of Mr Christopher Igbokwe as the Registrar of the institution while Mr Cyprian Okafor emerged the Bursar.
Igbokwe was the Deputy Registrar until his new appointment while Okafor was with the Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company (ANAMCO).
