Enyeama Blames Jabulani, Dismisses Award

Vincent Enyeama says his second Man of the Match award meant nothing and blamed the Jabulani ball after the Super Eagles were beaten 2-1 by Greece on Thursday.

The result leaves the Super Eagles’ World Cup hopes hanging in the balance.

“What do I gain from winning the Man of the Match award when my team loses? Nothing. So I feel disappointed.

“I think the decision was unfair. The two players hit each other. It should have been a yellow to the two of them.

“The Greek player should have been sent off for diving.”

Enyeama spilled Karagounis’ shot, allowing Tosoridis to score, and blamed the ball.

“It was the ball, not me. It moved at the last minute, but it is the ball we have been given and we have to play with it”.

Nigeria’s next game is against South Korea and the goalkeeper says it is a game they will now have to win.

“We have to depend on Argentina to beat Greece, and then we will have to do our job against Korea.

“Impossible is nothing.”
