Enugu NBA To Get Modern Bar Centre
Enugu State branch of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) will soon get a befitting modern Bar Centre in the state.
This was part of the promises made by the state Governor, Mr. Sullivan Chime, to the new executives of the body recently when they paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Enugu.
The Governor also promised to empower lawyers and appoint more judges in accordance with the requests made by the new executive.
Addressing the State NBA Executive, Governor Chime described members of the Association as stakeholders and major supporter of his administration.
“I thank the Bar for the role it has played over the years in the discharge of their duties. We had good understanding with lawyers in the state”, he said.
Earlier in her address, the State Chairman of the Association, Mrs. Nnenna Ukoh, said that their visit was to identify with the government and appreciate the Governor for his good work in infrastructure development, capacity building and city beautification, among others.
“We are proud of you, we want to appreciate you and your good works. They speak for themselves. We thank you for the support to the association and we assure you of our cooperation and support” , he said.
She told the Governor that the new executive came into office on April 30, after holding a successful and hitch free election, and appealed to him to assist them build a modern Bar Centre where members could relax after a tedious day’s work.
Mrs. Ukoh, also on behalf of members of the Association requested for job opportunities and empowerment of their members, especially the junior ones by appointing them to serve as legal advisers in the local government areas.
