Entertainment Veterans Form Alliance

Concerned Veterans of the Nigerian Entertainment clan in a bid to combat the pressing challenges facing the industry have announced the birth of the Nigerian Entertainment Industry Alliance. The alliance it was gathered, would provide the needed powerful common voice for the entertainment industry in Nigeria and to properly position the industry within the political and economic spheres.

Meanwhile, to maintain the independence of the Alliance and to immunise it from the destructive tendencies of association politics, it has been resolved that regardless of whatever association any practitioner may belong to or whatever leadership positions any practitioner may hold, everyone will join the alliance not as a representative of any group or association but in individual capacity.

It was gathered that the desire to force a turn around in the status quo of the entertainment industry, was the reason some prominent players in the industry came together to form the alliance Those key drivers include the former President of the Association of Movie Producers, Mr. Madu Chikwendu, star actor and former interim President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Kanayo O. Kanayo, former President of Performing Musicians of Nigeria (PMAN), Chief Tony Okoroji and immediate past AGN President Ejike Asiegbu.

Others are Chairman of the Nigerian Association of Recording Industry Mr. Tolu Ejueyitchie, Star Singer and performer Sunny Nneji, President Association of Nollywood Core Producers, Mr. Alex O. Eyiengho, President, Music Label Owners Association, Mr. Joel Ajayi and a host of other artistes and entertainment business professionals who came together to form the alliance.
