Constitution Review: Emir Wants Focus On Poverty, Unemployment
Alhaji Shehu Idris, the Emir of Zazzau on Thursday, urged stakeholders in the on-going constitution review to adopt measures that would check poverty and unemployment among Nigerians.
He stated this while receiving members of Kaduna State House of Assembly Committee on Public Hearing on the 1999 Constitution Review in his palace in Zaria.
“I urge you to adopt measures that will reduce the level of unemployment and check poverty among Nigerians”.
“Kindly allow matters concerning government patiently and accordingly,” the Emir added.
Earlier, the leader of the team and Deputy Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Mr Yohana Jatau had told the Emir that they were in his palace to seek royal blessings.
He appealed for support and cooperation from traditional institutions of the state to achieve the set goals.
Jatau explained that the committee was in Zaria zone to guage peoples’ opinion on the proposed amendments.
