Labour Party Presidential Aspirant Isa Tijjani in Kano, yesterday, announced his rejection of power rotation, describing the arrangement as “undemocratic.”

Addressing newsmen,Tijjani noted that the formula, if pursued, would not augur well for the socio-economic and political development of the nation.

“Every eligible Nigerian, irrespective of where he or she comes from, his or her religion or tribe, should be allowed to aspire to any position in the land ,” Tijjani said.

According to him, power sharing is a PDP agenda, evolved to achieve certain political interests within the party.

He said the agenda should not be made a national political norm.

He said that although PDP controlled most of the political offices in the country, its internal agenda should not be foisted on the entire country.

Tijjani noted that “there are other political parties that have their own manifestoes and internal arrangements too”.

The aspirant said that the Labour Party would never subscribe to the power rotation formula, “because it has nothing to do with democracy.”

According to him, LP believes that every interested Nigerian should be given the opportunity to aspire to political offices.

On his aspiration, Tijjani said he would pursue an agenda of “national cohesion” and a development plan which would translate into a better life for all Nigerians, if voted into office.
