Youth Vanguard Makes Case For Wealth Creation
National President, Jonathan Youth Vanguard, Mr George Turner, on Thursday in Abuja has urged the Federal Government to establish a platform for wealth creation.
Addressing newsmen at the inaugural meeting of the organisation, Turner said that wealth could be created through the development of small and medium scale enterprises.
He noted that if such avenues were created, the future of Nigerian youths would be adequately secured.
“It is an honest belief that greater number of Nigerians are living below poverty level as evident in crime rate, illiteracy and restiveness in the society.
“A nation whose citizens wallow in abject poverty and hunger cannot and will never progress,” he noted.
While commending the president on the key areas of need that he identified in his four-point agenda, Turner appealed for the wealth creation to make the fifth agenda.
The four point agenda of the president includes electoral reform, power, security and Niger Delta Development as well as Anti Corruption Crusade.
He said the organisation had provided a veritable platform for youths in Nigeria and the Diaspora to be involved in more comparative agenda and strategic framework in the country.
“Nigerian youths have the desire to interface with the administration while ensuring that their views are mainstreamed into legislations and government’s policies.
Turner noted that the organisation was focusing on transparent, corrupt free society, credible elections and people-oriented leadership.
